Welcome! CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, is Europe's most successful consumer association with nearly 170,000 members. It fights to save Britain's pub heritage and campaigns for a wide choice of tasty traditional beers and ciders. The Gloucestershire branch covers the GL1 to GL20 postcode areas. Postcode areas GL50 to GL56 are now covered by separate Cheltenham and North Cotswold branches.

We plan to use this home page to show news items about pubs and beer in the Branch area, ahead of publication in the Tippler. So if you have any hot news items, please email them to our webmaster.

SALUTATION IS NATIONAL PUB OF THE YEAR

We are delighted to announce that the Salutation Inn, at Ham near Berkeley, has been named CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2014. Our heartiest congratulations to landord Peter Tiley and his wife Claire. Considering that they were new to the trade when they took over the pub in April 2013, this is a tremendous achievement.

This is the second time in eight years that the title has come to Gloucestershire, the Old Spot at Dursley, just 6 miles from the Salutation, having won in 2007.

Tickets are now available to purchase online for the 39th Cotswold Beer Festival, which will take place at Postlip Hall, near Winchcombe, from Friday July 17th to Sunday July 19th 2015.

COUNTY GETS ITS THIRD CAMRA BRANCH

The former Cheltenham sub-branch is now a full branch of CAMRA, covering postcodes GL50 to GL53, becoming the third branch in Gloucestershire. Gloucestershire Branch will continue to cover the remainder of its current territory, ie postcodes GL1 to GL20, and retain its existing sub-branch structure. North Cotswold branch (postcodes GL54 to GL56) is unaffected by the change.

Dursley, Gloucester and Tewkesbury sub-branches all have their own web-sites.

CAMRA's new online guide to pubs throughout the UK is now available.
