Some big changes this year! Firstly, we hope to sell the majority of tickets through local outlets, though postal sales will still be available. Secondly, we are charging a reduced entry fee for the Saturday evening session, and introducing a refundable charge for the Sunday lunchtime session. Thirdly, beer tokens will be available when you buy your tickets, but will not, as last year, be bundled with the tickets. Finally, we regret that it is no longer possible for cars, taxis or minibuses to park, drop off or pick up passengers, or for visitors to pitch tents, within walking distance of the Festival, but bus services will be available at the reduced price of £3 return.

Venue and session dates and times

As usual the festival will take place in and around the Tithe Barn at Postlip Hall, near Winchcombe. The sessions will be as follows:

Friday 19th July 2013, 7pm to 11pm;

Saturday 20th July 2013, 11.30am to 3pm;

Saturday 20th July 2013, 7pm to 11pm;

Sunday 21st July 2013, Noon to 3pm.

Admission

Admission to all sessions is by ticket only. Ticket prices are as follows:

Friday evening - £7

Saturday lunchtime - £7

Saturday evening - £5

Sunday lunchtime - £2

Sunday lunchtime tickets include £2 of beer tokens, so really cost you nothing.

Buses

Buses will run from Cheltenham town centre (evenings only) and Cheltenham racecourse to Postlip and back during all four sessions. There will also be a limited service from Winchcombe. The charge is £3 return. Children (under 18 years) will be carried free of charge during the lunchtime sessions provided they are accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Please buy your bus tickets at the same time as your entry tickets. The times of the first and last buses to and from each session will be advertised here.

Getting tickets

Tickets will go on sale on 19th April through outlets in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Winchcombe. If you buy tickets in person, we will ask you to complete a registration form, so that we can contact you later if necessary, and let you know about next year’s festival. You may complete the form at the outlet where you buy your tickets, or later online.

If it is impossible for you to get to an outlet to buy tickets in person, you may apply by post.

Postal applications will be dealt with as they are received, but ticket dispatch will be delayed by up to three weeks to allow for cheques to clear.

Please note that postal applications must be received by 9th June.

Beer token cards in multiples of £5, up to a maximum of £10 per Friday or Saturday entry ticket may be purchased with your entry tickets.

No parking, camping, drop-off or pick-up

Because the field we have used as a car park in the past is often waterlogged, and is in any case going to be ploughed this year, we have reluctantly decided that we cannot provide parking for visitors. Obviously camping will also be unavailable. It is also neither practicable nor safe for us to allow large numbers of vehicles to drop off or pick up passengers on the main B4632 road. Therefore the only vehicles that will be allowed to drop off and pick up passengers will be our own buses, and buses carrying 20 or more passengers that are organised by customers who have made arrangements with us in advance of the Festival.

Disabled access

The Tithe Barn is about one kilometre (1100 yards) from the bus drop-off and pick-up point. If a member of your party will have difficulty walking this distance (and back), we can provide a permit to allow a car on site, or a lift along the drive if the disabled person is arriving/leaving by bus. Please give the necessary information on your registration form. or postal application.

Designated drivers

We are again offering free soft drinks to drivers who undertake not to consume any alcohol at the Festival. This year we are not issuing cards in advance; you may apply for one at the soft drinks counter when you arrive at the Festival.

Young people

Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to consume alcohol at the festival, and we will be asking for proof of age from anyone who is fortunate enough to look (in our opinion) younger than 25. The following will be accepted as proof of age:

Photo driving licence;

Passport;

Photo card bearing the ‘PASS’ logo.

Those under 18 and children under adult supervision are welcome at the lunchtime sessions and do not require admission tickets (and may travel free of charge on our buses). Please do not bring children to the evening sessions.

Smoking

Please do not smoke in the Tithe Barn or marquee (it is against the law) or near their entrances or in the food serving area,

Dogs

For safety reasons, dogs (except for guide dogs) are not permitted in the Tithe Barn at any time. They may be brought into the grounds during lunchtime sessions only, but must be kept on a lead and not allowed into the Tithe Barn.

CAMRA members

CAMRA members may obtain a discount in the form of a token for a free pint at each of the Friday and Saturday sessions upon presentation of their current membership card at the token sales point at the Festival.

As always we are looking for CAMRA members to volunteer to help at the Festival.
