WYE VALLEY Butty Bach (H)
GUEST BEER Regular (H)
This riverside pub has been a licensed
house since at least the mid 18th
century, when it doubled as a coal wharf
with passing barges taking coal
upstream. The interior is one bar nearly
the whole length of the premises and has
exposed beams and a tiled floor. Good
quality home-cooked meals are served up
to 1345 lunchtime and 2100 evenings.
Stone steaks are a speciality. The
landlord was a butcher and the quality
of his meat and fish are clear. Outside
a patio overlooks the River Severn
making it a lovely spot to while away a
summer evening. The pub has its own
moorings for customers and is on the
Severn Way. The approach road is liable
to flooding in the winter. Take-a-way
service. Free Wifi. Closed Mondays. From
mid-October to mid-March the pub is
closed Monday-Wednesday. Wye Valley
usually available in the warmer months
with other beer, such as Skinners in the
winter months.
