This pub was once a bakery, but became
licensed premises in 1870. This charming
pub is a rare outlet in the area for
Marston's beers. Baskets hanging from
the rafters is a reminder of Moreton's
basket weaving past. There is a small,
comfortable bar and a large, attractive
conservatory with a dining area. The
decor and atmosphere are reminiscent of
an Amsterdam 'brown' cafe where the
Dutch game of Schoolen can be played.
There is a standard menu complemented by
an ever-changing and popular list
specialising in oriental food. All meals
are reasonably priced, with vegetarian
options (no food Monday evening). Within
the garden area, competition for nesting
sites is at a premium between the
resident ducks who live on the pond next
door - this place is not called
Inn-on-the-Marsh for nothing!
