Severn Vale started brewing in August 2005 in an old milking parlour using a new five-barrel plant.
Warminster malted barley is used and mainly Herefordshire hops. Around 50 outlets
are supplied. Steve McDonald is the brewer and proprietor.
The brewery is a member of the Gloucestershire Craft Brewers.
Severn Vale Beers
- Session (ABV 3.4%)
- Severn Nations (ABV 4.3%)
- Severn Bells (ABV 4.3%)
Bitter with plenty of body and mid-brown in colour. Uses Goldings and Styrian hops.
- Severn Swans-A-Swimming (ABV 4.7%)
- Vale Ale (ABV 3.8%)
A rich amber beers with full-bodied malt flavours and a complex nose and taste.
- Dursley Steam Bitter (ABV 4.2%)
A sparkling summer ale full of flowery hops.
- Monumentale (ABV 4.5%)
Designed as a porter but not dissmilar to a strong mild with lingering, malty flavour.
- Severn Sins (ABV 5.2%)
A jet-black stout with a dry roast malt flavour with hints of chocolate and liqorice.
